Rwandan peace accord signed
After years of Hutu citizens being mad about Tutsi getting better jobs and education due to Belgians considering them the superior Rwandans a "peace accord" was signed by Juvenal Habyarimana to try and stop the killings that have been going on by Hutu reaching 20,000 Tutsi casualties. Unfortunately this did not work for very long because a year after Habyarimana was killed shot down out of the sky supposedly by Tutsi rebels. -
The death of Juvenal Habyarimana
On April 6, 1994 the President of Rwanda Juvenal Habyarimana a hutu was killed. HIs plane was shot down above Kigali airport supposedly by Tutsi rebels. This was considered the start of the mass genocide. -

The well-organised RPF, backed by Uganda's army, gradually seized more territory, until 4 July 1994, when its forces marched into the capital, Kigali. -

UN-appointed international tribunal begins charging and sentencing a number of people responsible for the Hutu-Tutsi atrocities. -
Rwandan troops attack
Rwandan troops invade and attack Hutu militia-dominated camps in Zaire in order to drive home the refugees.
