He is Prime Minister of Italy and he outlaws other parties. He has a secret police called the black shirts. He censored media. Controlled the economy, other known as a command economy. He never achieved a totalitarian state because of the church, monarchy, and the military. -
Beer Hall Putsch
Hitler attempts to overthrow the German government.
He had been developing the Nazi party by creating propaganda, flags, uniforms, etc. He created the Brown Shirts, a secret police for him. The overthrowing does not work out and Hitler was throw in jail. -
New Leader- Josef Stalin
Stalin takes over the Soviet Union when Lenin dies of a stroke. -

The US helping Germany with the reparations and loaning some money. -

While Hitler was in jail, he wrote his book, and it means "my struggle". It says that Germans are superior and he believed Germans were of the Aryan race. He believed Germans needed more space for their people, or lebensraum. -

Stalin needed to rapidly industrialize the Soviet Union to catch up to the rest of the world. -

Stalin is trying to get all of the large farms together, so he kills kulaks, causing a large famine. -

The stock market crashed and lost people millions. Then businesses overproduced and people could not buy everything. Banks start to run-on and banks become broke. FDR creates New Deal to help stop it, but World War II pulls us out of it. -
Persecution of Jews
Hitler kicked all Jewish people out of the government. Jews start lose all rights because of the Nuremberg laws in 1935. In 1938, law stepped back from Jews and they had no protection of the law on Kristallnacht. -
Hitler is named chancellor
Hindenburg places Hitler legally into the government, hoping to gain himself power. -
Fire at the Reichstag
The Reichstag, capitol building, was set a fire due to arson. Hitler blames the communist and gets more power from the enabling act. He then sets up a totalitarian state. He established the SS, and killed the Brown Coats. He the outlawed other political parties and controlled mass media. He also created youth groups to get them on his side. -

Stalin killing his competition by creating show-trails to get a point across. Also starts the gulag system. -
March 1935- Hitler rearms Germany
Hitler goes against the Treaty of Versailles and he made weapons. He later armed Germany in 1935 to make Germany great again. Treaty of Versailles said they could not militarize but he does anyways. -
March 1936- Hitler enters Rhineland
The Treaty of Versailles says Germany cannot have troops in Rhineland, a area around France. He moves sections of the army there anyways, and breaks the treaty. -

The Austria making a vote to join Nazi Germany, and the vote led for Austria to join them.
