    The Sugar Act was the first law ever passed by Parliament to raise tax revenue in the colonies for England upon sugar imported from the west. This event is signifanct because It directly affected the colonies. This was the first tax ever placed directly upon the citizens leading to multiple uprisings and deaths. It was also significant because it created the stamp act congress where delegates/representatives from every colonie came together. It was a step towards intercolonial unity.

The repeal of the Townshend acts cause the british to send over troops to control the uprisings. 60 townspeople attacked 10 redcoats and the redcoats fired on the civilians, murdering 11 of them. Known as the boston massacre. This event was significant because it was a direct hit towards the British leading towarsds the revolution.
