Sugar Act

Apr 5, 1764

This act would stop from people smuggling sugar into the colonies.The act stated nothing with sugar may be produced with Great Britain sugar.

The Stamp Act

Mar 22, 1765

This act was passed to tax the colonies. The Stamp Act stated anything made with or on paper must have a stamp or the colonists would be taxed.

The Quartering Act

May 17, 1765

This act was passed to protect from threats. The Quarter Act stated to protect the British colonial soldiers their paychecks would be cut in half.

The Tea Act

May 10, 1773

The Tea Act was passed because parliament wanted to help the East India company. This act states that British colonies or plantation in america the whole of the duties of customs payable upon the importation of such teas.

Coercive/Intolerable Acts: Boston Port Act

May 20, 1774

This act was passed for Lord Oliver punish the colonies. The Boston Port Act stated that colonists may not pass the bay.

Coercive/Intolerable Acts: MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act

May 20, 1774

This act was passed because England was losing control of the thirteen colonies. The act stated that no one in the colonies could own a government or they would be sued or even murdered.

Coercive/Intolerable Acts: Quebec Act

This act was passed to expand and keep faith of the British. The Quebec Act stated all territories of colonists are providence of Quebec.

The Townshend Act

Jun 29, 1776

This act was passed to stop from smuggling illegal items to the colonies. The Townshend Act stated that any British soilder could invade a house and look around for smuggled goods.l
