Even though this event did not take place in the renaissance, the black death is such an important event in history. It is one of the largest if not the largest mistory plague of all time. It killed thousands of people, and this affected the renaissance because there would have been many more people requiring jobs, and the lack of need for jobs meant larger wages and more interest in art.

Henry IV Becomes King

Richard the Second was removed from king. So when Henry the Fourth became the king it was a big deal. This was because now France had a new leader and the way of life may be changed now.

Geoffrey Chaucer Dies

Geoffrey Chaucer Dieing was a big deal. This is because Geoffrey Chaucer was a big author in this era, and now there would be no more stories written by him.

Johannes Guttenburg creates printing press

This was an important event in history. This was because now books were able to be printed faster and more effectively. This raised the interest in books since now there was more selection.

Birth of Leonardo da Vinci

This was an important event in history. This was because Leonardo da Vinci over the next few years would invent many things. He invented things like a prototype of the airplane and many paintings.

Michelangelo is born

this was an important event is history. This was because Michalangelo would later in his life create many sculptures, which sparked a liking in art and sculptures.

Christopher Columbus Discovers the Americas

This was important because Christopher Columbus discovering the americas created a spark in wanting to go exploring west. This resulted in the discovering of North America.

Leonardo da Vinci paints the last supper

This was an important event in history because it highlighted the fact that back then most people were very religous. This painting showed that because it was of Jesus and his desciples.

John Cabot sail to Newfoundland

This was a large event during the renaissance. Although it not being an art event, which was the key part of the renaissance. This meant that now people would be setting up colonies in Canada and Northern USA, since there was now "new land" that had never been heard of before, so the fishing was great, and they gained new resources to send back over to Europe.

Michelangelo begins work on the sculpture David

This is a very important piece of art in the history of the renaissance. When Michalangelo began the work on David, he did not know that he would be beginning work on one of the most famous sculptures of all time. This was one of the pieces of art that created even more interest in the arts around Europe.

Leonardo da Vinci paints the Mona Lisa

This was one of the most important paintings of all time, not just the renaissance. During the renaissance, paintings were coming in at an all time high, and none were more famous than the Mona Lisa. This was a painting that, even up until now, is a very famous painting.

For almost the same reasoning, this was another important event in the renaissance. This is one of the most famous sculptures of all time, and that is what the renaissance is all about.

Leonardo da Vinci dies

Leonardo da Vinci was arguably the best painter of all time. He finished the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. When he died it just marked the end of the life of the best painter of all time, meaning that there is no more paintings made by the best painter of all time.

This was a very important event in history. This is one of the best frescos of all time. This has been a attraction to people around the world for hundreds of years. This is a beautiful fresco and to think that this was made so far back in time, it is amazing.

This marked the end of the life of a man who created the best statue of all time (David) and the best fresco of all time. Michelangelo was a great sculpture and painter, and it saddened everyone that he died and they would not be seeing anymore great paintings and sculptures from this man.

William Shakespeare bulids the globe theatre

This meant the beginning of a new era. The renaissance up until now had been all about paintings and sculptures, but now with William Shakespeare becoming famous, many people began to become interested in the other arts, like drama. William Shakespeare would go on to produce many famous plays at this theatre, and many upper class people would become interested in this and it meant that plays would become a big part of the lifestyle of those people.

Galileo Discovers the Moons of Jupiter

This was important because this was why people began questioning the theory that everything revolved around the earth. This sparked theories that instead everything revolves around the sun, except for moons, since the moons of another planet were discovered.

The Thirty Years war Begins

This was important because it meant that there was now a very long war that had just begun, and this was the end of the renaissance. The thirty years war took the likes of 8 million people.
