On October, 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted 95 Theses on the Casle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. The 95 Theses were a protest against selling the indulgences. Also in the thesis, he had three main points which were: Selling indulgences to finance the building of St. Peter's is wrong, also, the pope has no power over Purgatory, and that buying indulgences endangers people's salvation. -

The German peasants were angry because of the rise of the prices and the feudal system, so then they decided to revolt in June 1524. The revolt of the Peasants was peaceful when it first started, but by 1525, the protests turned violent and more than 40 German monasteries and castles were burnt. Martin Luther opposed the Revolt and the peasants rejected Lutheranism. -

English Bible Published

In 1526, William Tyndale published an English language of the bible that has been translated from the original languages (Greek and Hebrew), after escaping from Johannes Dobneck (1479-1552) who had organized a raid on Tyndale's secret printing press. After it had been published, the Bibles were distributed throughout England. -

In 1572 St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre happened. A Catholic mob charged against the Huguenots. It killed a lot of French Protestants. The massacre lasted for a couple of months. The massacre was the turning point of the French Wars of Religion. The Huguenot movement was passed.
