Bi Sheng Invented the Movable Type
Movable type was a "printing press" in a sense in Chinia. This was the first metal moving printer. But the Chinese writing system has thousands of different characters, so the movable type was impractical for most Chinese wrritings. But the Europeans didn't have as many characters which is why they took the idea of the movable type. -
