On the early months on 1810 Napoleon and the french had just invaded the Spanish and important cities of Spain were scummbing to the troops of Napoleon. This caused for unrest in the colonies and for all the colonist to get anxious and agitated because they were confused from whom to follow orders from. -

The Spanish Raid Epigmenio's House
The Spanish troops searched Epigmenio González house and found arms and ammunition. They were warned by Marino Galván, the postal clerk of the meetings, about the conspiracies going on between Miguel Hidalgo, Ignacio Allende, Juan de Aldama, Miguel Domínguez, Doña Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, and Epigmenio. -
El Grito De Dolores
After the raid of Epigmenio’s house Doña Josefa sent the news about the arrest to Hidalgo and Allende, which in turn, caused for the start of the war for independence with Hidalgo’s Grito de Dolores. -

Hidalgo and the Rebels Overtake Guanajuato
Hidalgo joined hundreds of workers of the mines on his approach to Guanajuato. On this attack the Spanish opened fire first and the rebels were under heavy fire. Yet, the rebels were led by Juan José Martinez, known as El Pípila, and under his orders were able to successfully set the wooden gates of the city on fire, and overtook the city. -
Battle at Monte De Las Cruces
Hidalgo had an army of 80000 marching towards Mexico City to take over the city. Then a battle took place in Monte de las Cruces where the Spanish were outnumbered and were forced to retreat back into the city. Yet instead of continuing into the city, they had suffered great losses so Hidalgo decided to retreat. -
The Spanish Troops Catch Up With The Rebels
The Spanish troops caught up with the rebels and attacked them in a perfectly executed way. The Spanish won the battled, which caused for the rebels to split up and retreat. -
Hidalgo and Allende are Captured
Allende and Hidalgo were apprehended by the Spanish authorities in the desert of Monclova, and then were transported to Chihuahua to be executed. Allende and other leaders were killed immediately but since Hidalgo was a priest then he had to be tried by the Inquisition. -
Hidalgo is Executed
Finally after being tried Hidalgo was found guilty of treason and heresy. For this reason. Hidalgo was immediately killed on this day. Jose Maria Morelos y Pavón. -
Jose Maria Morelos Is Executed
Jose Maria Morelos was captured by the Spanish troops after promulgating the first constitution with a congress in chilpancingo. He was executed in Mexico City by a firing squad. -

Viceroy appoints Iturbide
Viceroy Apodaca appointed Agustin de Iturbide to plan an offensive strategy against Vicente Guerrero, the successor of Morelos. -
The Plan de Iguala Is Composed
In a meeting after a few battles between the two Iturbide and Guerrero came to an agreement with the Plan De Iguala that consisted of 23 articles but there were three major guarantees, that there would be an independent mexico that is a constitutional monarchy, that roman catholic would be the only religion for all of Mexico, and that criollos and peninsulares would be treated equally. -

The War For Independence Ends
On this day Iturbide had finally ended the eleven year war and the Army of Three Guarantees entered Mexico City after signing the Treaty of Cordoba, which was quite similar to the Plan de Iguala, but with the major modification that Mexican congress had the ability to choose the New World emperor.
