  • Rocket Summer

    It was a cold winter and then out of no where a huge heat wave came through taking away all the cold. The surprise heat that shot through was then named "Rocket Summer" Every one then watched as the rocket took off and turned the cold winter into summer for a brief moment.

  • Ylla

    Ylla began listening and maybe talking to one of the men coming on the first expedition to mars through telepathy. Ylla's husband finds out and gets very enraged in jelousy. He then goes out and kills those on the first expidition to Mars.

  • The Summer NIght

    Martians throughout Mars have been hearing songs in a different langauge play through there head over and over. These Martians are slightly scared because they are not sure what it means and why they are starting to hear all of this

  • The Earth Men

    The astronauts from the second expedition arrive on Mars. They are then sent house to house trying to find somewhere to go. They are eventually taken to an asylum where they are executed.

  • The TaxPayer

    A man tries to get onto a rocket launch to Mars because he wants to get away from the government and the upcoming atomic war. Those in charge only laugh at him and send him away when the launch takes off.

  • The Third Expedition

    Captain John Black and his crew land on Mars to find a city almost identical to those on Earth. They are greeted by relatives from each of their families who have passed away. During the night, Black couldn’t sleep, because he felt afraid of their families. In fear of this, he left to get a drink during the night, and he is met by his brother’s voice, from which he ran, but didn’t make it to the door.

  • And The Moon be Still as Bright

    This was the fourth expedition on Mars. They made a fire when they got their and started to drink wine and eat. Than an auxiliary rocket land and Hathaway and a couple of his men stepped out. Than they 14 of them went out to explore the land and then Spender got sick and walked away. They couldn’t find him for days and then he came back and killed all of them

  • The Settlers

    This chronicle is a short one that explains why people are going to mars.

  • The Green Morning

    A man He had passed out because of the thin air, so he wanted to plant an abundance of trees to counteract it. With a little bit of luck, however, it finally rained, causing thousands of trees to sprout and grow into full sized trees.

  • The Locust

    This is an incredibly short chronicle. It’s about how everything is advancing, and how life there is becoming more like life on earth.

  • Night Meeting

    Gomez meets one of the martians that has been living in the hills. They both think that one is alive and one is dead, but they can’t decide on who is who. The two eventually go separate directions after leaving. They both think they were dreaming.

  • The Shore

    This is a very short chronicle talking about more people going to Mars with different professions.

  • The Fire Ballons

    Two priests go to Mars. Peregrine wants to try and convert some of the natives. They find that most of the martians are dead but find a new race who look like spheres of blue fire. They build a church for these new martians, but they don't seem to appreciate it. Even though the priests didn't convert anyone, they feel holier.

  • Interim

    This was another very short chronicle. It was about more people coming to Mars. It was talking about them building another city there.

  • The Musicians

    In the Musicians we find some boys hiking and they come to one of the dead cities. They then enter the house and begin kicking and screaming while playing music with whatever they find. They however relate the whole thing as if it was describing Autumn not Marians.

  • The Wilderness

    This chronicle is about Janice and Leonora who are getting ready to go to Mars. Janice wants to reunite with her boyfriend so they are taking the time to say goodbye to everything in their town. Especially everything they will miss the most like chocolate malts and perfume.

  • The Naming of Names

    We get a look at how the people from earth are renaming the martian land. Most names are after the first expeditions. At the end of the page it says the “sophisticates” came to mars, and these are the people that were being avoided by leaving mars.

  • Usher 2

    After having the government on earth ban all tales of fantasy, a man named William Stendahl had a contractor head to mars and build a replica of the house of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe. A fellow fan of fantasy named Pikes helped him make all the robots that are inside the house. Garrett, and investigator for the moral climate comes to tell him that they will be coming to take down the house. William takes him inside for a tour and a robot ape kills him. They then make a robot to look like him and

  • The Old ones

    Old people finally journey to Mars. They come after Mars has been colonized and is safe.

  • The Martian

    LaFarge and his wife Anna are older people who have settled on Mars. One night, their deceased son Tom, shows up on their porch. LaFarge has trouble believing this while his wife does not and pushes the reunited family to go into town. Everyone sees the martian as someone important to them. Eventually, the stress of being everything to everyone kills him. He melts down under stress and dies.

  • The Luggage Store

    There is news about an atomic war happening. A Priest and a Luggage salesman are discussing the chance of an upcoming war. They believe if there is a war people from Earth that are presently on Mars will go back?

  • The Off Season

    He’s trying to create a hotdog stand on Mars to make profit apparently. He’s so focused on creating a hotdog stand that he shoots a Martian that is trying to relay him a message then buries him. Then he runs away in a stolen sand ship,shoots a few more martians destroys a few buildings then he runs out of ammo they catch only to relay the message still. They then gave him half of Mars he was astounded.
    Buy why did they chose to give him half of Mars?

  • The Watchers

    The war on Earth has began and everyone on Mars can see it as the Earth looks like it is exploding. They begin to find out more on what is going on and a message later comes telling all on Mars to come home

  • The Silent Towns

    There was one man left on Mars and that was Walter. He was okay with this because he wanted to be alone anyways. He eventually however gets lonly and begins looking for a friend he finds someone and she begins talking about marriage and such. Walter runs away and decides he would rather be alone.

  • The Long Years

    In this chapter, we find that Mr. Hathaway and his “family” are some of the only people left on mars. Finally, a rocket is spotted and we again meet Captain Wilder. As the reunion between the two commences, Mr, Hathaway seems to be having heart trouble and he soon dies due to the strain and excitement of seeing of seeing other people. We (the audience) also find out that his family actually died quite a long time ago and he has replaced them with lifelike robots.

  • There will come soft rains

    We see a house in California that was abandoned after the war. all of the robotic like things are still working and don't realize that no one is there. There is a dog however that is aware of this and ends up dying. The house eventually burns up in flames

  • The Million Year Picnic

    A family flees to Mars after the war. It is a husband and wife with there three sons. They decide to go on a fishing trip and while on this trip the father blows up the rocket they used to get to Mars. The sones ask if they will see Martians and eventually there father shows them their reflections
