It is winter in Ohio and a rocket sits on the launch pad. There is frost on the windows, iscles hanging from the roof and kids play in the snow. The rocket takes off and changes the season. The snow melts and the air feels warm. For a moment it was summer. -

Ylla
A martian named Ylla has a dream that a astronaut from earth will land on mars. As the astornaut gets closer she starts to speak english, a language she has never hear before, because of the martians power of telepathy. She has another dream that let's her know when Nathaniel York will land and where he will land. Later her husband goes to the spot and kills Nathaniel York. -
The Summer Night
It is a summer night on mars and a martian woman sings in an amphitheater. She begins to sing english words which she has never heard before. This is because earth men are coming to mars and she is picking it up from telephathy. Soon many other martians started to hear the english words. -
The Earth Men
Four astronauts from earth land on mars. The knock on a martians door but they want nothing to do with them. later the men find themselves in an insane asylum with Mr. Xxx who is a martian. Mr. Xxx thinks that the earth men are a hallucination so he shoots them. When their dead bodies are still there he shoots himslef. -
The Taxpayer
A man in Ohio thinks taht he should be able to go to mars because he pays taxes. He goes up to the fence at the rocket field and starts yelling at the men in uniform. He yells at them that he should be able to go to mars. He is then arrested. -
The Third Expedition
A third Expedition of American astronauts land on mars. They find an american style town on mars with their relatives living in it. This is a hallucination from the martians and the martians kill them. The Martians then hold an American style funeral for them. -
And the Moon be still as Bright
A fourth expadition travels to mars. They have a party and Biggs throws bottles in the martian river. Jeff Spender disapears but comes back and kills Biggs and other crew members. Spender thinks taht they need to respect mars. after a man hunt for Spender Captain Wilder kills him. -
The Settlers
People start to come to mars for all different reasons. It does not matter why they are going it just matters that they are going to Mars. -
The Green Morning
Benjamin Driscoll is a man who came to Mars from Earth looking for redemption. He just wants to be somebody and on Mars he has trouble breathing so he plants seeds on barren land. When it rains he turns around and sees that it is now covered in green. -
The Locusts
A lot of people start to land on Mars from Earth and build towns. The people coming to Earth are like locusts. -
Night Meeting
Tomas Gomez is going to a party on Mars. When he is driving to the party he sees a martian. They talk but realize that they cannot touch eachother. They are like ghosts. This makes Tomas think about his identity on Mars. -
The Shore
Waves of people are now coming to Mars. The first wave was people who built small homes. The second wave of people were people who lived in cities. All of these people were Americans. -
The Fire Balloons
Some Priests are talking about what religion they should have on Mars. When they go exploring old Martians that look like blue orbes save Father Peregrine. They decied to make their religion based on the blue orbes even though they tell them not too. -
Interim
People on Mars are starting to live life like they did on Earth. These people are the interim because they are inbetween the original martians and what Mars is about to become. -
The Musicians
Some boys that are living on Mars go to the place where the fireman burn the dead martian bodies. The play their bones like instruments even though their parents tell them not to go their. -
The Wilderness
Two women on Earth are going to Mars but they have their fears about the trip. The one women Janice wants to go because her boyfriend Will is already on Mars. Janice and Will are talking on the phone during the trip but she can only understand one word "love." -
The Naming of Names
As people start to settle in on Mars they name places after people or Cities on Earth. Wilder Town, Driscoll Forest, Detriot II. -
Usher II
William Stendahl makes the house of Usher two on Mars. He does this because of his passion to preserve old literature. When the Moral Climates come to destroy the house of Usher he kills them in ways inspired by literature. -
The Old Ones
Mars is now developed enough for retirees to come to Mars. -
The Martian
LaFarge and his wife see their deceased son Tom one night but it turns out it is a martian. The martian runs through the town making itself appear as different people and it eventually dies. This relates to the third expediton where the astronauts saw past loved ones. -
The Luggage Store
A luggage store owner prepares his store for a lot of customers becasue he beleives people will go back to earth when the war starts. -
The Off Season
Sam Parkhill form an earlier chronicle starts a hot dog stand on Mars. His hot dog stand will be the best on Mars and he is expecting a lot of business but his wife does not think so. One night he see's earth go up in flames and he knows the war has started and people will go back to earth. -
The Watchers
People go outside to watch Earth go up in flames on Mars. They see a message come from Earth that says Australia had a premature explosion, Los Angeles and London were bomded and they need to come home. -
The Silent Towns
After everyone left Mars Walter Gripp did not because he was not around to see everyone leave. He feels alone and hopes a women is still on Mars. He calls around and Genevieve answers. He goes to her but she is annoying and wants to marry him so he leaves and lives his life on Mars alone. -
The Long Years
After 20 years of people not being on Mars we see how Mr. Hathaway from a previous chronicle has lived during this time on Mars. He lives with his wife and three kids and Captian Wilder comes back and finds them. Captian Wilder notices something strange and finds out that his Hathaways wife and kids are robots and his real wife and kids died 19 years ago. Hathaway dies and Captian Wilder leaves the robots on Mars and goes back to Earth. -
There will come soft rains
This chronicles shows a house on Earth that survied the nuclear attacks and runs itself. The house makes food and cleans but nobody lives in it. The house catches on fire and it is destroyed. -
The Million year picnic
A family lives on Mars and they are going to start a new life with another family that will come later. They go on their fishing boat and look at cities to live in and they look in the canal at their reflection and their dad says they are the martians.
