Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston Massachusetts. He did many great things for the country of the United States. He published the newspaper, The Pennsylvania Gazette. He also published Poor Ritchard's Almanac. Ben Franklin created the first American library.

French and Indian War
In Europe, this was known as the Seven Year's War. It ended with the Treaty of Paris. In this, France gives England all French territory east of the Mississippi River, but New Orleans. The Spanish gave up east and west Florida to the English in return for Cuba.

The railway system allowed for economy growth. Goods were able to be shipped by trail. People could also travel from places easily.
