The Reaping
Katniss's sister, Prim, is called to take place in a fight to the death tournament, called the Hunger Games, on live television. Katniss, protecting her sister, volunteers to take her place. -
The Games
All the tributes are brought to this year's arena, and the games begin. -
The Nest
The career tributes from Districts 1, 2, and 4 find Katniss and trap her in a tree. She then finds a tracker jacker nest and drops it on them that night. -
The Ally
Katniss allies with Rue, and later watches her die from a spear to the stomach. -
The Announcement
There is an announcement that there is a rule change. This new rule states that two tributes from the same district can win if they are the last two alive. -
Star-Crossed Lovers
Katniss finds Peeta and they make camp in a nearby cave to hide from the other tributes. -
The Feast
Katniss goes to a "feast" at the cornucopia and retrieves the bag that hold the medicine needed to cure Peeta's leg. -
The Victors
Katniss and Peeta run from muttations made by the Capitol, and meet Cato, the boy from District 2, at the cornucopia. After a while of fighting, Cato falls off and is attcked by the mutts. Katniss sends an arrow through his head to finish him. -
Peeta's Heartbreak
Peeta gets angry at Katniss on the way back to District 12 because he finds out she has only played the romance, which leaves Peeta heartbroken.
