Sepoy Mutiny
The Sepoys rebelled and they marched to Delhi. There they were joined by Indian soldiers. They captured the city of Delhi and from that point on, the rebellion spread to northern and central India. The picture here, is of the Sepoy and how their was a lot of violence when this happened. -

Amritsar Massacre
Around 10,000 Hindus and Muslims flocked to Amritsar. They intended to fast and pray in an enclosed square at a festival. The British government had banned public meetings. The British ordered its troops to fire on the crowd without a warning. The shooting continued for 10 minutes. Nearly 400 Indians died and about 1,200 were injured. The photo shows how the soldiers killed alot of the people in the top of the photo and many of them were severly injured. -
Rowlatt Acts
The British passed the Rowlatt Acts and these laws allowed the government to put in jail protesters without trial for as long as two years. -

Salt March
Gandhi organized a demonstration to defy the hated Salt Acts. Indians couldn´t buy salt from any other source besides Britain. Gandhi and his followers walked about 240 miles to the seacoast.
