The First Special Education Institution (April 15, 1817)
Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet was the first educational institution for the deaf in North America. He opened this school on April 15, 1817, it was called “ Connecticut Asylum the education of the Deaf and Dumb persons” this school provides math, reading, writing, geography, history, and the Bible. The institution is now the American School for the Deaf. -
Penshurst State School & Hospital
The Penshurst state school and hospital George Lovatt was the architect of this school and hospital, this hospital is an institution for the feeble-minded, disabled, and epileptic, and this hospital had over five hundred patients and 10,500 souls were dispatched and there were so many children in that hospital that were disabled and grow to old age and with no choice of leaving the institution.

The Arc for people with intellectual
Arc is known as the national association of citizens with intellectual disabilities, children with any disability, and their families. The Arc is one of the schools that don't think that it's only a disability that only defines them but they see it as all people with developmental and intellectual disabilities by seeing their strengths, abilities, and inherent value. -
the Elementary and secondary Education
The scheme is one of the bursary schemes enacted in 1965 under the Primary and Secondary Education Act 1965. This program is for low-income families and for racial segregation in schools. who made all of this happen was President Johnson's War on Poverty and this program helps so many students and parents that don't have enough money to provide for there childer educashon. -
Family Educational Rights and privacy Act
The Family Educational Rights is an ACT of federal law that protects all students' education first and their records. This ACT that every student's records are funded under in the program of the U.S. Department of Education and the parents have the right to respect their children's education records.

Education for All Handicapped Children Act
Education for All Handicapped Children Act in 1975. Schools are required to evaluate students' special needs for the education program for them to proved equal access to education for children with physical and/or mental disabilities. This program is also for parents to be more involved with their child's education. -

The Education for All Handicapped Children Act is to provide support to the state education programs to provide FREE education to disabled children.
