America demanded their own freedom and to be their own country. They were no longer part of the British Colony which no longer allowed Britian to send their convicts there. This resulted in Britian finding a new place to send their convicts. -
The first fleet leaves England
The first fleet of 11 ships left Portsmouth in set to find Botany Bay, NSW, this was led by Captain Arther Philips. There were more than 1480 men, women and children on board. 6 of the ships were full of the convicts, 3 ships carried resources and the last 2 were military ships. -
First fleet arrives
After 3 months, the 11 ships arrived on the shores of Botony Bay. -
Second fleet leaves England
The second fleet arrived in Port Jackson, Australia. 6 ships left England with 1006 convicts on board. -
