This department was created to handle domestic issues and will eventually handle the environmental aspects of the country. -
Sierra Club founded
Jogn Muir helped in the founding of the club and it is important because Muir worked with President Roosevelt to establish national parks. His club also was successful in trasnferring Yosemite Park to the national government thus turning it into the national park. -

Vice president Roosevelt becomes president with the death of McKinley. -

This law made irrigation avaliable to the western states. -

Administors the country's 155 national parks and 20 national grasslands. -

The land had began to be run by the national government, thus making it into a national park. -
Antiquities Act
This law, signed into law by President Roosevelt, gave the president the right to restrict the use of particular public land owned by the federal government. -

It was established to study the relation of rivers, soils, forest, waterpower development, and water transportation. -
