    Election Of 1860 In 1860, the Republican Party heard that if they won the southerners would leave the Union. While that was going on Abraham Lincoln was just elected for president. Replacing James Buchanan with states like Indiana and Illinois. The Election of 1860 did not officially have a platform because it just simply helped the Constitution.

    The South Secedes In 1860, South Carolina seceded from the Union. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Lousiana, Mississippi, and Texas had followed up to by Feburary the 1st. A few days later, the united states senators turned in there resignations. December 20th 1860, the South Carolina chose to an ordinance that South Carolina and other states would now be under the name the United States of America.

    Election of Jefferson Davis In 1861, after the delegates worte the Constitution, Jefferson Davis was elected to be president for the Confederacy. He was elected to serve a six term by the Confederacy constitution. He was president until May 5th when the government vanished.

Lee's army was led by James Longstreet, and forced Pope to injure Washington.

At the feild, the Union fought back to the Confederate could not struggle anymore. The last assult the Union pushed over the bridge at the Antietam creel. The Battle of Antietam was the most bloodiest battle known at the Civil War.

    In 1862, the proclomation said for all slaves in non-occupied areas agaisnt the Union. During the war, Congress made 180,000 African Americans to serve in the army. Most of the poeple got effected by the war. The women replaced the men who went into war, and some of the soldiers died of diseases.

    Battle of Vicksburg In 1863, General S. Grant made the armies come together at Vicksburg. On July fourth, he surrendered after the seige problems. This made the war one of the best campaigns. Grant's plan was successful in the west. This made him the General-in-Chief.

The Union were angry, so they made a Confederate assault. General Lee ordered Geroge Pickett to attack them on July third. They killed mostly 15,000 men who were in the charge. There charge was called the "Pickett's Charge". Lincoln dedicated the Union for there big win witht the Gettysburg Address.

  • Appomattox Courthouse

    Appomattox Courthouse In 1865, Grant broke through Lee's army at Petersburg. Lee finally noticed that and decided to surrender to Grant in the town of Appomattox Courthouse. Some Americans lost their lives in the years of fighting.
