Founded on April 30, 1966 c.e. by Anton Szandor LaVey, we are the first above-ground organization in history openly dedicated to the acceptance of Man’s true nature—that of a carnal beast, living in a cosmos that is indifferent to our existence. To them, Satan is the symbol that best suits the nature of we who are carnal by birth—people who feel no battles raging between our thoughts and feelings, To them, Satan Represents the war between the flesh/body and the mind/spirit. -

Core Beliefs
The church does not believe in or worship the Devil or a Christian notion of Satan. Satan in Hebrew means 'adversary' or 'opposer'; one who questions. They believe that satan embodies a positive archetype which in part represents pride, enlightenment, and the cosmos. Which Satanists believe presents the universe's natural tendency towards chaos and disorder. And is also responsible for the inherent desire for living things to propagate. -
Progression of the Church of Satan
Their goal as the Church of Satan is to give notice to the fact that in a general sense, humanity is unable to accept or control their personal egos, and feelings and are unable to act without hindrance or guilt. -

On June 6, 2006, the Church of Satan conducted a Satanic High Mass at the Center for Inquiry West's Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles, California. On June 6, 2006, the Church of Satan conducted a Satanic High Mass at the Center for Inquiry West's Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles, California. The event was by invitation only, and over one hundred members of the Church of Satan from around the world filled the theatre to capacity. The event was documented, and interviewed by BBC channel.
