Hooke
In 1665, Hooke notice that objects had cell. While looking through a microscope at a cork slice, he noticed honey comb like structure in the cork slice. He called these cells. -
Leewenhoek
In 1674, Leewenhoek discovered bacteria. While he was looking through a microscope examining pond water, he discovered dozens of protist. This is an improvement from the last model because it showed that there wasn't only one kind of cell in the world. -
Brown
In 1831, Browne discovered that in each cell, there is a nucleus. he came to this conclusion by looking at the cells of Ascepiads and orchids through a microscope. This improves the last model by showing that inside a cell is a power source. -
Schleiden
In 1838, Schleidan discovered that inside a plants tissue, there are cells. He discovered this by looking through a microscope at different types of plants. This improve the last model by showing us that all living things are made of more than one cell -
Schwann
In 1839, Schwann discovered that not only plants, but other organisms are made of cells. This improved the last model by showing that not only living organisms are made of cells but also non living materials is made up of cells. He also discovered cells that that form a sheath surrounding nerve axons. -
Virchow
In 1885, Virchow cells result from the division of previously existing cells. This was improved from the last one showing that in order for an organism to grow the cells would need to multiply
