King Edward Summons Parliament
The Model Parliament set up the framework for England's legislature. Parliament became a two-house body: The nobles and high clergy were in the House of Lords and The House of commons was filled with knights and middle-class citizens. Parliament insisted that the monarch meet their demands before voting. This limits the power of the monarch.
