The Fall of Tenochtitlan
Cortés, with the help of the natives, finally conquered Tenochtitlan. The main factors in the fall of the Aztecs were diseases, like smallpox and the flu, to which the natives had no resistance to. The conquistadors and natives who opposed the Aztecs killed many people as well. In total 240,000 people had been killed in the fighting for Tenochtitlan. Tenochtitlan was raised shortly after it's capture, and Mexico was constructed on top of it.
