The Sugar Act
In April 5th, 1763, the British put a tax on sugar and molassas, imported from the French and Spanish West Indies. And by doing sp, the expense on rum increased. -
The Proclamation of 1763
After the French and Indian War. all the land that the colonist won, (the land called The Great Western Frontier), was taken away from the colonist by the British. The Proclamtion of 1763 was set, and it stated that all the land west of the head of all rivers,that flowed into the Atlantic Ocean,were off limits to the colonist. -
Currency Act
The Currency Act was one of the Intolerable acts. This act was a parliament allowing the British to assume power over currency in America. As a result, the colonist protested, and also suffered a trade defecit waith Great Britain. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was an act that said, the colonist must find a living space for British soilders stationed in America. While this was happening, the colonist saw this as another attack on their rights. -
The Townshend Act
The Townshend \Act was the tax on all glass, paint, oil, lead, and tea. But it turn outm that the colonist didnt resist. But only established non-importation agreements. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a deliberate attack on innocent unarmed civilians. People died due to this attack. And the soilders who did so were put on trail, then released out of Boston. While only two soldiers were given light punishment. -
The Tea Act
The East India compant had 18 million lbs of unsold tea. This tea was to be shipped directly to the colonies, to be sold at a bargain price. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was when the colonist broke open chest of tea, and dumped it into the harbor. This infuriated British officials. -
Intolerable acts
A serires of laws to punish the rebellious colonist. But, the only effect was that annoyed the colonist. Which soon led them to rebel even more. -
First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was a meeting that George Washington, John Adams, Sam Adams, and Patrick Henry attended to. There they agreed that each colony would have one vote, despite its size. -
Galloways Plan
Galloways Plan was a plan to reconcile with Great Britain. Their plan was to make a copmpromise. It was rejected six to five of October 22nd, 1774. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was an act that had the requirement that all legal documents required a goverment tax stamp. As a result, comonist protested, they refused to pay, they burned the tax, and started riots. -
Paul Reveres Ride
Paul Revere was sent by Dr. Joseph Warren to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock, that British soilders were coming to arrest them. While Birtish soilders were coming, Minutemen awaited them the next day on April 19th, 1775. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
The first battle against the British/(the first battle of the Rvolutionary War). This was also when British officials arrested Sam Adams and John Hancock. At this battle, 8 minutemen were killed, and 10 minutemen were wounded.
