The end of the French and Indian war
When the French and Indian war ended it left King George III in a lot of debt. To help pay for the wars expense he taxed the colonist. They couldn’t do anything about it and they even helped fight the war. Even though they had many reasons to revolt originally this is probably the point where people wanted change, now. You could say that up until the Boston massacre that this was the incubation stage of the American Revolution. -

Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 prohibited settlement beyond the Appalachian Mountains. Although as a whole this wasn’t supposed to harm the colonist, some to a lot of offence to this. One can easily assume it’s because it was a serious limitation to their freedom, which was a lot to limit coming from someone across the Atlantic Ocean. -
Sugar act
The sugar act raised revenue by increasing duties on sugar imported from the West Indies. To make matter worse, the Colonies were in an economical depression. This along with the English government being hard on the people seeking freedom from England only fueled the American Revolution. -
Currency act of 1764
The currency act of 1764 made it so the American assembles couldn’t issue paper bills of bills of credit. Why would Parliament do this? Because they had a fuss about how colonial money caused devaluation harmful to British trade. -
Quartering act
The Quartering act of 1765 made it to where people in the colonies had to house British troops. You can imagine how this upset the people. -
Boston Massacre
On March 5, 1770 a crowd of angry rioters gathered around a British sentry, tired of what the British troops and government, they pushed the British troops too far, causing the British troops to shoot. It killed 5 of the 6 people hit by British fire. This opened a visible wound to the American Revolution; it was the sign of a disease, the symptomatic stage of a revolution. -
Boston Tea Party
A very iconic day in American history, when the people of America protested the high price on tea tax they asked the captains of British trading ships to return the tea. After they refused the Americans dressed as Indians and boarded the ships. They then destroyed the tea by pushing it in the Boston harbor. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was possible the biggest part of the American Revolution. It was the first sign of armed open conflict. You could say this was the crisis stage of the revolution, the battle sustained casualties (122) and a lot of injuries (213) -
Signing of the Treaty of Paris
On September 3, 1783 the treaty of Paris was signed, and with it, the end of the American Revolution. Finally America got the freedom they wanted. The disease was over, convalescence had been achieved. (Interesting fact, only 1/3 of the American colonies wanted to revolt, while another 1/3 didn’t want to. The left over 1/3 had no opinion on the matter.
