    After The Great Plains are over plowed for farming, drought and abnormal winds come to the area. The only plants that hold the earth together are the wheat crops, but they quickly whither away. The stirred dirt left behind become dust clouds that bury homes and suffocate livestock.

    The Great Depression started in 1929. In 1932 The Texas economy truly suffered. The price of oil crashed, along with many other goods. Texas cotton decreased 40% making it cost only 5 cents a pound. Many farmers leave Texas after the cotton got cheap.

    Texas Rangers kill Bonnie and Clyde
    Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were shot 4 dozen times in a police ambush by Texas Rangers as they were driving a stolen car in Louisiana ending the manhunt. The pair had spent the previous 2 years killing and robbing banks in the Midwest, and were believed to have committed 13 murders.

    On April 14, the worst "Black Blizzard" of the Dust bowl occurred blanketing the land in dust. The storm was pith black, and more than a mile high. It ravaged Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
