It was significant because it contributed to Santa Anna's frustration which made him send more troops to Texas to gain control. It also led to the Battle of the Alamo.

    The Battle of Coleto Creek took place on March 19, 1836. It was between Fannin and his troops and the Mexicans led by Jose de Urrea. It was significant because it was an easy win for the Mexicans and led to the Goliad massacre which inspired the Texans to rise against the Mexicans.
