Austin Grant
Stephen F. Austin is considered the founder of Anglo-American Texas. When he was twenty one he was elected territorial legislature of Missouri from 1813-1819. -
Mexican Independence
The Mexicans in 1824 got a republican form of government, but it failed. -
Austin imprisoned
The mexican government imprisons Stephen F. Austin in Mexico City. Stephen F. Austin was going to present the new constitution to the government in mexico. Santa anna refused to grant Texas seperate status so he threw Austin in jail. He was released eight months later -
Battle at Gonzales
This battle is considered to be the first battle of Texas revolution. After a short fight the mexicans retreated making it an easy win for the Texans. They only had one casualty. -

The mexicans had a siege on the alamo and on the morning of march 6th the Mexicans were successful and all of the defenders of the alamo were killed -

The runaway scrape begins with the siege and the fall of the alamo. It was a period of panic and terror. Colonists grabbed important possessions and left their homes. -
Massacre at Goliad
Antonio lopez led an army of 5,000 men toward san antonio. Mexican general Jose Urrea led an army of 900 into texas. Just like the battle of the alamo the texans defended goliad like they protected the alamo. -
Battle of san Jacinto
Santa anna lead the mexicans to san jacinto to fight Sam Houston and his men. It was a brutal fight but Sam Houston and his men won the battle. -
Texas joins the United States
James Polk signed a legislation making Texas the 28th state to join the union. -
Texas secedes and joins the confederacy
Texas seceeded from the union. Most of the secession convention voted for it. 171 people voted for it, 6 did not. -
