    -It admitted Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state which kept the balance the same -Also it defied that underneath the boundary of Missouri would be considered a slave state if they wished, but all states above would be free

    -This created a transcontinental connection within America, where the western states had direct access to the Atlantic Ocean

    -The Underground Railroad was a beacon of hope for emancipation -Although few slaves, compared to the vast amounts, escaped through the Underground Railroad, many considered it a good omen for the future

    -The Nat Turner Rebellion was the largest slave uprising, and although it failed, it sent a strong message to southern farmers.
