Tensions between Texas and mexico
Mexico closed its borders to the americans and banned the import of labor from slaves. They also taxed goods imported from foreign countries hoping to discourage trade with America. -
Battle of Gonzales
It was the first battle against Texas and Mexico. It started when Mexicans ordered the texans to surrender to them. Instead the Texans pointed a cannon at the Mexicans. The Texans ended up winning. -
The Battle of Goliad
The mexicans made the Texans surrendered, the texans were hoping they would just kick them out of he country instead they killed them a few months after the battle. -
The Alamo
The Alamo is an Abandoned catholic mission that the texans were using as a fort. It is where santa anna's troops fought the Texan Rebels. -
Texas declared independence
Texas declared its independence from Mexico by signing "The Texas Declaration of Independence." -
The Battle of San Jacinto and the Treaty of Velasco
The battle only lasted 20 minutes but the Texans kept killing Santa Anna's troops. The Texans attacked Santa Anna's and his troops and captured them including santa Anna himself. They then killed over 700 members of Santa Anna's troops. The Texans made Santa Anna sign the Treaty of Velasco after they captured him. -
The Republic of Texas
The Republic of Texas is what they called there country. Their first presidents name was sam Houston. It was a country for only about 9 years. -
Texas annexation
Texas became apart of America. When it became a state it was a slave state. It was the 28th state of america.
