    The Council of Chalcedon

    The Council of Chalcedon
    Jesus Christ was either divine or human. Teachings by the Council of Nicea could not correctly say if Jesus was human or a semi-God. If they decide for him to be one, the other would be denied. The Council soon gathered and discuss his human and divine nature, they soon came to an conclusion after clarifying the issue that Jesus was both fully human and fully divine. In return they have achieve the correct understanding of Jesus.

    East-West Schism
    The East - West Schism was caused by Pope Leo III after he was crowned. The East did not like the idea of crowning the pope because it gave him power over all Catholic churches. They were worried that his motive would be to change their religion practices.

    The plague was on the trading ships that came from the Black Sea, It was to late when they realised that horrible sickness was on the ships. The plague spread through the city and across the country side leaving a disturbing sight. Tartars attacks the fortress of Kaffa, because of their life was cut short, they catapult dead infected bodies into the fortress hoping to infect them.

    Martin Luther’s Publication of 95 Theses
    Martin Luther attacked the Catholic Church through a written document justifying that their practices of selling 'indulgence' to absolve sin was wrong. His 95 these was put forward presenting the 2 central beliefs. They were that salvation was only reached through their faith, not their deeds. He would protest against the church and hope to achieve the change of the Catholic church.

    Luther announced that the Catholic church must be reformed because of their corrupted ways. Some Catholics joined the protestants but the others stayed, hoping for renewal of the Catholic Church. Some council delegates wanted the protestants and the Catholics to reach an agreements about the reformation. The topic was not touched during the seconds informal talk. In a few instance the delegate was able to cause councils to halt the clerical corruption and abolished indulgence sellers.

    Peace of Augsburg
    On this day a Peace of Augsburg was signed which result of a recognition of both Lutheranism and Roman Catholicism, leaders from each religion gain the ability to decide their religion practices but only within their state. The idea that removed the disagreements from each religion was by giving them the rights to decide for their own good and religion but not for others. The hope to achieve peace among each other.

    The Seconds Vatican Council was held because of some factors that occurred within the society like WWII. The horrific sight of stolen freedom and dignity caused the United Nations to take action and protect Human rights. They wanted to ensure that WWII would not happen again. They hoped to achieve World peace however the developed nations were a threat to it because of the involvement of arms race.
