    This Energy Crisis was due to the Coal Strike of 1902. Miners didn't like their conditions or pay so they went on strike. With no one mining the coal, that would lead to a decrease of supply.

    The Elkins Act was to prohibit the railroad companies from the giving of rebates to business that shipped large quantities of goods. And also the giving of power to businesses to artificially lower shipping prices/fees.

    President Teddy Roosevelt had established the first national wildlife refuge at Pelican Island, Florida. For the reason of the protection of brown pelicans there from the slaughter by hunters.

    Devils Towers is a small body that was formed by magma that had cooled underground then later was exposed to th urface due to erosion. It was a scared place to over 20 Native American Tribes. Devils Towers was designated as the United States first national monument by President Theodore Roosevelt.

    Roosevelt grew very frustrated with Taft's conservation then tried to win the 1912 Republican nomination for president. He then walks out and finds the Political party titled the "Progressive Party". During the election there was a split between the Republican representatives, leading Democrat Woodrow Wilson to win the 1912 election.
