    In May of 1898, Teddy Roosevelt, aka Theodore Roosevelt, resigned his position as Assistant Secretary of the Navy and soon led the American army to fight July 1, 1998, for the protection of citizens and businesses in Cuba. This led to Teddy Roosevelt being awarded the "Medal Of Honor" for his act of bravery.

    On September 14, 1901, Teddy Roosevelt was first named President. At the time, Teddy was the Vice President for William McKinley. Eventually, McKinley got assassinated, making Roosevelt the next President.

    On May 12, 1902, The coal strike was led by miners who were in need of higher wages, shorter weekdays, and recognition. This took place due to their needs not being met and they soon threatened to shut down fueling companies that supplied many cities in America.

    The Reclamation Act of 1902 required water users to repay construction costs. The act led to an increase in water and energy for many farm lands/ families, due to dams and reservoirs being built.

    The Elkin's Act prohibited railroad companies from giving rebates to businesses that ship a large amount of goods, and giving more credit to those who had lower shipping prices.

    The Northern Securities Case was the first example of Roosevelt's use of an anti trust legislation to dismantle a monopoly. Many believed that the only reason the Northern securities act was put in place, was to create a monopoly on railroad traffic access.

    In 1904, Theodore Roosevelt began his first full term as president of the United states after running as a Republican. He was voted due to the excitement that he brought to the citizens. Following his presidency, Teddy Roosevelt established many new acts and laws in order to change the US in a positive way.

    The Meat Inspection Act of 1906, provided citizens with healthy and safer meat than they were previously receiving.
  • Pure Food and drug Act

    Pure Food and drug Act
    After the Meat Inspection Act was passed, The Pure Food and Drug Act was put in place to ban harmful products and end false medical claims. This Act provided citizens with labels on their food products, which allowed them to know what was in the food they were buying. Today, all food products must have labels or they cannot be sold.

    In 1906, President Roosevelt decided to make Yosemite under federal control, after talking to the naturalists of Yosemite and camping in the park for three days. Yosemite being put under federal control, promised its protection for the wilderness in that area.

    After Roosevelt's presidency ended, he went on to explore the African Safari. Teddy went on this expedition to hunt and provide for the Smithsonian and its exhibit halls.

    In 1912, Teddy Roosevelt decided to run for presidency again, but sadly lost to Taft. After losing, Teddy decided to create a new political party, known as the "Bull Moose Party". The Bull Moose Party promised to protect welfare and increase federal regulation.
