Pokemon Blue
(Invented by Sony) The Pokémon games for Gameboy changed the way way that kids who played games interacted together. It was the first game that used the link cable that allowed you to connect two Gameboys together in order to trade Pokémon or battle each other. In order to get all the Pokémon kids had to interact with one another. This caused kids like me who were really shy to be able to make friends. This was pivotal and helped to create the gaming community that we have today. -
Gameboy Color
(Invented by Nintendo) The Gameboy Color literally blew my mind. For the first time I was able to play portable games in color on a device half the size of my original Gameboy. It came in different colors and made the games come to life. -
Flash Drive
(Invented by Dov Moran) I remember the first time I bought a flash drive. After years of using floppy disks the could barely hold anything I was able to plug a stick into my computer that could hold all of my classwork as well as songs and later even videos. In the CD era, putting music on anything was pretty crazy. -
iPod
(Invented by Apple) I remember when the iPod came out people were still using Walkmans or other portable CD players. When the iPod came out everything changed. It was the first time that digital media became mainstream. Not long after words, movies, games, tv shows and much more became available fully online and the days of buying physical copies of media were over. -
Smart Phone
The invention of the smart phone was game changing. I remember when the iPhone first came out and only the lucky few were able to get their hands on them. I (not one of the lucky few) was stuck with my flip phone for years before android came out and smart phones became more available to the public. Nowadays everyone has a smart phone and they are so essentially that companies will give you one just so you can do your job.
