    2003
The earliest memory I had with technology is going into the computer lab when I was in Kindergarten. The computers were big and had green cases with odd shaped mouse. I had a difficult time using the mouse at first and learning how to click. On the computer we played Reader Rabbit a computer game that taught reading. I still use the computer but I don't use the same program.

This was the first year that I remember my family got a home computer. My dad need one for his business that he was starting, so we were not allowed to use it. He did print out coloring sheets for me which I thought was neat. Since then we have had many computers.

Another experience I had in elementary school with technology was in art class. Instead of keyboard and was there was a pad with a stylus. Through a program and the pad we were able to create drawings that came to life. It allowed use to use different drawing tools to create our design. It was easy to use and made drawing fun because of the many options it had.

This was the first year that I used Microsoft programs like Word. I took a class in school that taught use to all of the Microsoft programs. I completed projects like PowerPoint about the fifty states and a excel spreadsheet about the school's budget. The skills I learned in the class I still use today. For example, the shortcut Ctrl C for copy and Ctrl V for paste.

My seventh grade year was the first year SMART boards and doc cameras were used. I went to a small charter school so it was a big deal to get them. We spent the day in each class learning how to use both. I remembered how useful both became as the year progressed. It brought lessons and activities to life.

My freshman year of high school I got my first smart phone and my own laptop. It was nice not to have a slide phone anymore. The apps were amazing and it was neat to see the different features. A laptop was nice to take places even though the cell phone could do much of the same.

I was a library aid and I used a scanner, barcode maker program, and different library computer programs. I learned how to keep track of books and how to create barcodes. All of the skills I learned will be helpful if I choose to be a librarian or another similar career.

As a graduation present I got a tablet. I enjoy the compacted size of it and the slightly larger screen then a phone. I like to use it to take and share pictures. I also use it when I tutor kids.

This was the year I took my first online class in college. I took psychology online in a summer term. I was at a different collage so Blackboard was used instead of Canvas. I prefer Canvas because it is much easier to use then Blackboard. Also, I used a online textbook and features that helped teach the concepts. I also emailed and watched videos in the class.

Since my first online class I have finished a bachelors degree online and now working on a graduate degree online. I'm constantly upgrading my technology whether it be the latest cell phone or laptop. I use technology everyday from school to work and use different types of technology.
