Although widely adopted, these IBM PCs were of higher quality with an even higher cost with the additional add-ons.

    Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, released Windows 1.0 on November 20, 1985. This was the first to use a graphical user interface that included a notepad, clock, calculator, calendar, paint, menu options, and icons! No more typing commands.
