    At about 13-15 months, a toddler begins to take his or hers first steps while holding onto parents' hands. This is a gross motor skill and is a major milestone for the toddler. Toddlers also begin to climb on chairs, sofas, and tables. A toddler also crawls forward or backward with varying speed.

    A 13-15 month old toddler has a very short memory and almost no forethought. A toddler notices actions of other children and adults. They love to mimic all actions, as well as showing interest in new textures by rubbbing fingers over surfaces.

    Toddlers now enjoy playing house and imitating family situations. They are able to plan a play activity and carry it out and understands cause and effect in terms of own behavior.

    When a toddler is two years old, they can soap hands and arms easily. They become more idependent when it comes to bath time and their motor skills improve as baby fat disappears.
