Prenatal: Fetal Stage
Fetal Stage: This is the time frame between eight weeks to the birth of the child, the time when the fetus (as it is now called) is most easily recognized as human. It will grow twenty times bigger in length, and half of the fetus will be its head at two months. The weight also increaseds rapidly, from four ounces at four months, to seven pounds at birth (on average).

Conservation: At about age seven, a child is able to understand conservation of numbers, substance, volume, etc. For instance, before this age, they cannot understand that if a glass containing the same amount of liquid as another identical container is poured into a taller glass, that the amount of liquid is still the same.
