Brawl between Montagues and Capulets. Prince breaks up the fight. Benvolio sees Romeo, who's sad because Rosaline doesn't love him back. -
Act I scene II
Paris wants Juliet’s hand in marriage, Capulet refuses but lets him try to court her. Romeo and Benvolio are invited to Capulet’s feast, Benvolio convinces Romeo to go. -
Act I scene III
Nurse, Lady Capulet and Juliet talk about marriage -
Act I scene IV
Mercutio, Romeo and Benvolio talk about dancing and discuss their dreams before going to the Capulet feast. Romeo has a bad feeling about going but goes against his gut feeling. -
Act I scene V
Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight. Tybalt finds out that Romeo came to the party uninvited and wants to fight him, but Lord Capulet stops him. Tybalt swears to take revenge on Romeo.
