Stamp Act congress meets in New York and decided the Stamp Act was unfair because they were not represented in parliament and the British had no right to tax them. -

On this day, the Stamp Act was supposed to take effect; however, no one was there to distribute the stamps so it didn't take effect until later. -

Parliament nullified the act. The three pieces of legislation that made the repeal of the Stamp Act possible was the Declaratory Act, an economic legislation, and the Revenue Act which reduced the duty on molasses.
