Sonny Liston was the World Heavyweight Champion, when he faced Cassius Clay in Miami Beach. Liston was consiedered one of the boxer in the history. LIston was the big favorite, but had to give up in the seventh round due to an injury. -

First NFL Super Bowl

1968 Olympics
After claiming the Gold and Bronze medal, Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised a black-gloved fist to demonstrate for human rights, other people say it was a gesture of the "Black Power" movement. -
1969 NBA Finals
The Boston Celtics dominated the NBA in the 1960's, by winning 9 out of 10 times. In 1969, they faced the Los Angeles Lakers with Wilt Chamberlain. The Lakers were heavily favored. It was a big surprise that the Celtics even made it to the finals, but winning the Finals against the Lakers (4-3), is considered one the great upsets in the NBA history.
