Brown v. Board of Education
This case changed the way "black" students went to school. They were slowly integrated in the school system with the "white" students. This was a victory for the civil rights movement. -
Section 504-Rehabilitation Act
This national law protects qualified individuals from
discrimination in school or a work place based on their disability. -
Education for All Handicapped Children
This law requires states to provide free education and necessary services to studdnets with disabilities. -
IDEA
Americans with Disabilities Act was remaned Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. -
NCLB
No Child Left Behind Act increases accountability for outcomes for ALL students. It also requires that they are taught by qualified teachers.
