Bill Clinton is responsible for creating this law to help students with disabilities to gain the same access to education as their peers do. IDEA has four parts and expands its age limits to provide early intervention for children. -
No Child Left Behind Act
The No Child Left Behind Act was created under George W Bush. He used The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as a base to create this law and reform education. Standardized Testing has been introduced and students are tested in reading and math. -
IDEA is Amended
The standards are raised for special education. Teachers have to meet certain standards and interventions for children who have disabilities are being used sooner as children are diagnosed. -
Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Barack Obama signed ESSA into law to help improve The Elementary and Secondary Education Act. ESEA is a foundation for this act and ESSA helps students enroll in early college preparation and guarantee more graduation rates.
