Many of the kids not being part of the public school system had to find services outside of the system.

    Was the first special education case in the supreme court. The Supreme court ruled that qualifying students were to have access to special education programs in public schools.

    This act was a civil rights law that negated under any situation any discrimination based on an individuals disability.
  • IDEA re-authorization of 1997

    With the revisions done from the previous act the emphasis of the resubmit was with the focus on the students outcomes. An Emphasis on school-to-work.
  • No Child Left Behind

    The NCLB act made schools more responsible to providing more special education resources. This act allowed more technology assistance and loan programs to be developed in regards to aid towards schools.
  • All the way up

    Reports to congress informed that 95 percent of handicapped students are being taught at local general education schools.
  • Obama makes changes to No Child left Behind
