The ruling in this case is that the government stated that public schools has to provide appropriate education for students with disabilities. The ruling made by the supreme court gives all kids the right at a fair education by providing resources. The final ruling also provides teachers with classroom settings to work close with special needs students. This ruling started the IDEA.

Committie Of Towns Burlington Mass .V. Department Of Education Of Mass
The Education Of Handicapped Act was establish during this case. This ruling requires participating state and local educational agencies “to assure that handicapped children and their parents or guardians are guaranteed procedural safeguards with respect to the provision of free appropriate public education” to such handicapped children. These procedures include the right of the parents to participate in the development of an “individualized education program” (IEP) for the child. -
Honig v Doe
Honig vs Doe was the first case that focus o the issue of school disciplining students with disabilities whom fall under the Individuals with disabilities in Education Act. The outcome gave special disabilities students the right to continue their education in a proper academic setting.
