    The beginning of special education in the United States was drafted to curb the educational inequality for economically underprivileged children.
  • The Elementary and Secondary education act amendments

    This act provided federal money for schools In institutions, additional federal money to help states, and operate schools devotedfor education for children with disabilities.
  • Medicare and Medicaid Bill

    President Johnson signed the Medicare and Medicaid bill (Title XVIII and title XIX of the Social Security Act) that provided health care funding for people with disabilities.

    ESEA Amendments: first expansion of ESEA that provided additional funding that established regional resource centers under President John F. Kennedy

    This guranteed all children with disabilities receive aa public education. If expelled, the district must continue to provide an education out of the school system. Lastly, due process was constitutional right.
