Brown vs. Board of Education
The focus of this case was about racial segregation in school but it was put in terms wide enough that it was a catalyst for persons with disabilities to also be included in schools with everybody else and started a new wave of laws regarding disabilities. pic from -
PARC vs pennysylvania
Suit was brought up in 1971 ended in a four part law stating that, one, all students need an education regardless if it was academic or life skills. They could all gain some skills in some ways while also saying the younger the better for classifying said students. Finally that schools can't deny education of any students. Source for Picture -
Mills vs. Board of education
This case made it mandatory for all students with a disability to receive a public education. -
Section 504
section 504 is a major part of the rehabilitation act,while not specifically aimed at special education it gave assistance to people with disabilities in a more global scale than simply the school system, some of the most well known features is handicapped ramps in building and side walks, and handicapped parking. EAHCA (signed on)
Signed by President Ford in 1975 the main point of the bill being to give all children access to public education if they got government money Image Source -
EAHCA ITP
An amendment was added to EAHCA that added TBI and ASD (Known as Autism back then) as disability categories. It was also stipulated that an ITP plan was made for a student which gave them support for their post grade school life. Image Source -

More support for students with language barriers was added to the bill. IDEIA is now the new name for IDEA.
