A colony as founded was founded by the dutch East India Company. This colony was on South Africa and was called Cape Town. The town was suppposed to be a way ships on there way to Asia to trade and pick up more goods. It was a pit stop for ships. It also was for sailors long at sea to rest. -
British take Cape Town
The Brtiish take over Cape Town after the battle of Waterloo. -
Tranvaal(orange free state)
The original dutch colony that was in Cape Town moved. The British that took over the colony forced them to migrate up South Africa. They created a region called tranvaal. It is also known as the Orange Free state. At this date, Britian gave the Transvaal region limited independence. -

Apartheid Begins
After the elections of 1948, South African government has decalred Apartheid. APrtheid is where the Southc African population is divided by tribal origin, and race. The white population of South Africa is not affected by this changed, but the black population is. They are forced to leave their homes anf d go to the outer regions. They are still able to work and shop at the white part. -
Mandela prison
Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life in prison on this date. -
Apartheid Abolished& Nelson Mandela is Freed
Nelson Mandela, after 27 years, is freed from prison. Without President de Klerk, he would not of been freed. Along with freeing Mandela, de Klerk also abolished Apartheid. The South African, no matter what pigment, can live together. Although Apartheid was abolished, the South Afica population may not live together in peace. -

Nelson Mandela died
After being alive 95 years, Nelson Mandela has died. He was the main person who reunited the South African population. He caused racial equiality in South Africa and ended aprtheid. He was also the first president of South Africa. R.I.P. Nelson Mandela
