The Boer War
South African War between Britain and Afrikaner Republics. There were two South African States involved: the South African Republican and the Orange Free State. The conflict started mainly over who was going to have control over the South African Gold mines. Boers used Guerrilla Warafre and were successful at first, but Britain’s use of concentration camps lead the Boers to surrender. -

The ANC decided to organise a campaign of civil disobedience. It was first "large-scale, multi-racial political mobilization against apartheid laws under a common leadership." It was the largest scale non-violent resistance ever seen in South Africa. -
