    The Source is a program that provides lunch bags filled with food for our students on the weekend. They receive their bags on Friday and return them on Monday so they can be cleaned and filled again for the next week. The Source provides over 200 lunch bags for Skyview students.

    Strategic Plan

    Our school has a strategic plan that is updated yearly. We come together as adminstrators, teachers, counselors, Title I, etc to determine what we need to do to better serve our children here at Skyview Elementary. It is all about our kiddos!
  • Watch D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students)

    Watch D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students)
    WatchDOG are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities.

    Dr. Tish Howard was contracted by our county to help educators better understand their student needs as well as how to better analyze data that was being obtained through pre and post tests.
    We would refer to it as Need By Name.
  • Peer Court

    Peer Court
    Students in 4th and 5th grade are selected to participate based on their data from a needs assessment that the school counselor gives to all students. They are trained to help resolve simple/basic elementary school issues.

    Too Good for Drugs and Violence
    This program is from The Mendez Foundation. Our counselor strongly believes in the power that this program provides. Too Good is made up of drug and violence prevention programs designed to analyze risk factors and build protection against problem behaviors.

    Our school is collaborating with Dr. Jones and some of his students at WVU to provide leadership opportunities for a group of 4th and 5th grade students. Our students have the opportunity to go to WVU for leadership training throughout the year as well as Dr. Jones and his students coming to Skyview.

    Reasoning Mind is an education nonprofit. Reasoning Mind is an interactive, online blended learning programs for mathematics that develop students’ higher-order thinking skills and ignite their interest in math.

    We continue to focus on math and new ways to make it engaging and meaningful for our students. We have used Literacy Stations for years with success so we decided to try Math Stations as well.

    myOn provides personalized reading for students by recommending books based on their interests, reading levels and ratings of books they have previously read.

    We are doing a book study based on The Writing Strategies Book by Jennifer Seravallo. Our school decided to focus on writing this year after we did data analysis of WVGSA scores.
