The Korean War
The Korean war was a war between the Northern and Southern part of Korea. It had all started when the communist North had invaded South Korea. The south was getting heavily attacked. The U.N. and U.S. responded because South Korea was their friend. Then the North had to fall back because the two countries were too much for them. China had secretly sent and army to help the north korean and both of them went back to war. In 1953 a treaty was established and the North and South were divided. -

Assassination attempt on President Harry S. Truman
On November 1, 1950 the POTUS was almost assassinated. Luckly the attack had failed and the criminals were apprehend. The two men were Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola. This was because the United States of America was treating Puerto Rican's unfairly by using people as test subjects. Harry Truman was unharmed and relieved because the assassination attempt was stopped. At the end both of them died. -
Japanese Peace Treaty signed in San Fransisco
The San Francisco Peace Treaty was signed by 48 Nations on the date of September 8, 1951. This treaty was signed to end World War 2 and to end Japanese war crimes.This treaty also shows the relationship between the United States of America and Japan today. India, Burma and Yugoslavia were invited but they did not come. They had signed a separate peace treaty later. Cuban Revolution
The revolution had started in 1952. This happened because Batista had overthrown the president and cancelled all voting. Fidel wouldn't go without a fight so he didn't let this happen. He had attacked and failed many times but still didn't give up. They fled so they could devolp new fighting tecniques. In 1959 he won and declared himself president for life. -
Death of Rosenbergs
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were just a New York couple until they committed a very tantalizing crime. They were the first people to commit espionage in the United States of America. Espionage means to give away military or political secrets. The Rosenberg's were going to give away the formula of an atomic bomb to the Soviets. They had gained the information from Ethel's brother David Greenglass who had been working on projects that have to do with nuclear weapons. This was not okay to some. -
Mackinac Bridge
The Mackinac Bridge is the 3 largest suspension bridge on the planet today. A year before the construction of the bridge David Steinman was used as a designer. 44,000,000 dollars were used to supply as materials and it had cost more than 55,000,000 to make the bridge itself. It took three and a half years to make the entire bridge and 5 people had died during the construction of the bridge.The Bridge was oped to the public on November 5 1957. The Mackinac bridge has a yearly celebration. -
Vietnam War
On July 20th 1954 the Vietnam War started.The war began after the rise of Ho Chi Minh. He was the leader of North Vietnam, fighting South Vietnam and the United States. More than 3 million people were sadly killed during the Vietnam War. More than half were Vietnamese civilians. And 58,000 Americans. More than 500,000 U.S. military members served in the Vietnam war. The Vietnam war ended in 1975. -
Disneyland Opens

Montgomery Bus Boycott
The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a movement against the segregation laws of Alabama. Blacks had to give up their seats to the white people on the bus and were treated like that mostly everywhere else. The Boycott had all started because a women named Rosa Parks was told to give up her seat to a white man. Rosa had refused and she was arrested and was charged. Rosa had gotten the help of many other people especially the help of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Boycott had gone on for a year. -

Explorer 1 is launched into Space
Explorer 1 was the first satellite that was sent into outer space by the Americans. Explore 1 was launched into space by Juno 1 was the machine that was sent into outer space. Its mission was to find radiation waves in the earths atmosphere. It would make about 30 orbits per day and it only weighs 30.8 pounds. It uses dust,heat,and radiation detectors on its mission. X-15 Makes First Flight
The X-15 was a hyper-sonic space aircraft that was used for research by the United States of America. The X-15 still holds the world record of fastest manned aircraft ever flown. It had gone up 37,550 feet up in the air and had gone at a maximum speed of 552 mph on its first flight. Flight duration and speed of the X-15 had gone up over time. The time of its first flight duration was 4 min and 56.6 seconds. Neil Armstrong had even manned the X-15 for USAF and NASA. -

Kennedy had also help build NASA into a huge enterprise and introduced the idea of idealism to the youth of America. The Bay of Pigs Invasion
The Bay of Pigs invasion was a failed attempt by the U.S. to overthrow the Cuban leader Fidel Castro. The U.S. had trained about 1400 Cuban hostiles so they can attack Fidel Castro. On April 17, 1961 armed Cuban Exiles went to the Bay of Pigs with U.S. weapons. The U.s was going to lose most of the fight because there were to many Cuban troops to handle alone. Air Support was needed but President Kennedy had denied it. 2 days later the U.S. had lost the battle. Kennedy was embarrassed. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis was a major event in history that almost caused a nuclear war. The Soviets were less superior than the U.S army but they had decided to put missiles in Cuba. Fidel approved the Soviets Plan because he was afraid the U.S. might attack again. The U.S. had later found out about the missiles and decided to send some military forces to Cuba to check to see no missiles were launched. Kennedy the president at the time later told everyone. Luckly nothing happened and it ended. -

President Assassination
President John F Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. Kennedy was shot with a sniperrifle while in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. He was rushed to Parkland Hospital but he had died there when the surgeons were trying to keep him alive. Oswald was a former marine and a soviet defector and was arrested for killing the president and a police officer.Oswald had killed him alone and without the help of anybody. Jack Ruby had killed Oswald and was also charged for murder. -

The Civil Rights act was influenced by Martin Luther Kings march on Washington. The Belief of segregation became weak after his speech was heard. President John F. Kennedy was told to end segregation in 1964 and everyone would live freely among each other This will allow them to be able to have basic rights such as going to stores ,schools etc. When John F. Malcolm X assassinated
Malcolm X was murdered on the Audubon Ballroom stage by men with firearms. Malcolm X was disturbed when a man said something inappropriate in the audience. His bodyguards rushed to quiet the small scene mad. A man in the front row seat took out a sawed off double-barreled shotgun and shot him once in the chest. Some other men took out semi-automatic pistols and shot him multiple times in the chest. Malcolm X was rushed to the hospital and was announced dead with 30 bullets in his chest. -
Bloody Sunday
State troopers violently attacked peaceful demonstrators led by Martin Luther King, Jr. As they try to cross the Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala. Fifty marchers are hospitalized on "Bloody Sunday," after police use tear gas, whips, and clubs against them. The march is considered the catalyst for pushing through the voting rights act five months later. This helped add a law which didnt let anyone be subjected to torture or to cruel. And inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. -
Watts Riot
The Watts Riot was a huge riot in the Watts Neighborhood. There were a total of 34 deaths, 1032 injuries, 3438 arrests and around 40,000,000 dollars in property damage. This indecent had started when a man named Marquette Frye who is a 21 year old African-American man who was driving while intoxicated. The police came with backup to arrest him. His mother and father refused his arrest so they had been arrested along with Frye. This had made crowds go against the polices work and people. -
Miranda Rights Created
The Miranda Rights is to protect the suspect’s Fifth Amendment right to refuse to answer selfincriminating questions. The Miranda rights came from the British Magna Carta. The document were promises between the Kings. He would govern England according to the customs of the feudal law. Magna Carta was made by the Byron to stop a King from abusing his power with the people of England Suffering. The Magna Carta was applied to the Miranda Rights. -
Gemini 8
Neil Armstrong aboard with others were in the gemini 8. In this mission they had to dock it to another space craft. The mission took 10 hours total. They succsessfully docked the vehicle into another. In the end they luckily made it back home without a problem. -
First Super Bowl
The First Superbowl was held at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles California. The teams that had played were the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green bay Packers. The Packers had ended up winning by 20 points. The scores were 15-35. 61,946 people had attended the Superbowl. The Halftime Show was a bunch of collage bands vocalists. 58.18 people had watched the Superbowl on their television. Many more Superbowl's happened every year after the first one. -

Martin Luther King Jr. had gone to Memphis, Tennessee so he can help the sanitation workers who had not been getting their full wadges. They usually get paid a fraction of what the white people get. King had later went to a church to justify what he wanted to do with this unfairness. He had later booked a room at the Lorraine Motel. He had went on the balcony and was talking to Jesse James. He was later shot in the jaw and chest. He went to the St. Josephs Hospital and was announced dead at 7:05 -

The iconic boy band the Beatles broke up. They were formed in 1960 and have been a huge success. But sadly everything has to end.
