Skateboarding

  • 1950's

    Skateboarding was started in the 1950's by some surfers in California, who got the brillian idea to surf the streets. We can't say exactly who was the first, since it was invented by multiple people.
  • 1960's

    In 1963, skateboarding was the rage. The sport was at it's popularity peak.
    Then in 1965, skateboarding seems to die. Some did stay true to the sport and kept making homemade board and fine tune their craft.
  • 1970's

    In the 70's, skateboarding started to become the sport we have today. In 1972, Frank Nasworthy invented urethane wheels, which gave skateboarding a comeback. In 1975 Skateboarding got the boost that it needed.
  • 1980s & 90's

    In the 80's, skateboarding started to influence on clothing style, music and culture.
    In the end of the 80's skateboarding became less popular again. But luckily in the early 90's it got very popular again. And in 1995 the first X-games was arranged.
  • 2000's and now

    Skateparks pop up here and there, there a lots of skateboard videogames and a lot of skateboard companies. The X-games is still here and professional skateboarders make real money.
